New works at Balmoral for Mosman Council

The new works at Balmoral Beach and throughout Mosman have been finished including the new pavement along the promenade and the outdoor seating outside The Buena. I was asked by Mosman Council to take a range of photos showing the new works and I wanted to show each scene with people in the scene eg people walking, exercising, walking their dog, etc so the photos have a natural and community vibe. How to photograph water to get the misty effect

You can achieve very different images by controlling how long you have your shutter open for. Shutter speed is measured in seconds or fractions of a second. A fast shutter speed (eg 1/1000th of a second) can freeze motion while a slow shutter speed (eg 10 seconds) will blur anything that’s moving. A common scenario for using a fast shutter speed to freeze motion is this photo below of a seagull I photographed in Brighton in the UK. Massive Storm Rolling Over Balmoral Beach

I have an obsession with clouds and storms so yesterday when I saw a huge storm coming in so I ran down to Balmoral Beach to get some photos. It was pretty amazing and even had a green light coming from the middle of the clouds that you could see as it passed straight over me which was followed by wind and then the rain.
