CURL CURL COASTLINE
Waking up, still dark outside and the world is asleep. Preparing for the morning ahead camera is ready. A hunter in pursuit of golden light along the Curl Curl coastline. Everything is quiet and clear just before the sunbeams start breaking the dark sky. Capturing the red, gold or pink hues before it escapes my eyes, the golden beams shooting their way across the sea like paint stripes across the ocean top. The thrill of the capture, no two days are the same. It is as though the artwork is assembled together before my eyes. As if for a brief moment it is just there for me to take the perfect photo.

CURL CURL SURFERS IN OPEN WATER
Curl Curl is one of Sydney’s standout surfing beaches. Like watching animals in the wilderness viewing the local surfers is not too dissimilar. Capturing them out in the open water in their natural habitat. A daily ritual, right where they are meant to be chasing those 1.6-metre waves.
CURL CURL COASTLINE
The locals are awake jogging, fishing or just picking up their morning coffee along the boardwalk that curls around the headland. Like a performance they are all in time, they dance their morning routines, the sun once beaming across the ocean has now risen into the sky and Curl Curl is ready to face the day.
NORTH CURL CURL ROCKY BUSHLAND
Driving into Curl Curl I'm struck by its incredible wide-open view. Sandwiched between Dee Why and Freshwater you would think its name originated from its roads that wind and curl around the beach. Interestingly the name Curl Curl derived from an Aboriginal phrase curial curial, meaning river of life.

Waves move and crash
My adventures at Curl Curl continue underwater and lull me into a relaxed state and take me to another world. Entranced by blues and greens in the depths under the surface of the water. Bewitched I watch the waves crash above me in a surreal moment.
